This course provides students with the understanding of: real number system, polynomials, signed numbers, solving equations and word problems, graphing equations and inequalities, exponents, quadratic equations, probability, and systems of equations.
- 1 Credit Prerequisites: Math 9 or equivalent
This course provides students with the understanding of: deductive proofs; ions, contractions, and expansions; integration of solid and plane geometry; constructions; right triangles, circles and polygons; area and volume; coordinate geometry; and an introduction to trigonometry.
Math 11 - 1 Credit Prerequisites: Math 10 or equivalent, meet or approach AIMS
This course provides students with the understanding of: the real number system; linear and quadratic functions and graphing; arithmetic and geometric sequences and series, recursive and iterative sequences, Pascal’s Triangle and the binomial theorem; radical, exponential, and logarithmic forms of expressions and functions; operations with and functions of polynomials including conic sections; systems of equations; and an introduction to Structure and Logic.
Math 12 - 1 Credit Prerequisites: Math 11 or equivalent
This course provides students with the understanding of: geometric reasoning and properties of angles, polygons, triangles, altitudes and bisectors; laws of sines and cosines; trigonometric functions, laws and identities with real world applications; limits and vectors with real world applications; coordinate geometry including conic sections and polar coordinates; topics in statistics and probability; and vertex edge graphs applied to real world topics.
Trigonometry/Pre Calculus (Honors)- 1 Credit Prerequisites: Math 11 or equivalent and teacher recommendation (replaces Math 12)
A challenging course that includes topics of: finite math, polynomial functions, laws of sines and cosines, trigonometric identities, trigonometric proofs, polar coordinates and unit circle, and topics in brief calculus.
Calculus (Honors)- 1 Credit Prerequisites: "C" or better in Trigonometry/PreCalculus
A challenging course that provides the students with understanding of: graphical, algebraic, and numerical analysis; techniques of differentiation; techniques of integration; applications of derivatives and integrals; discussion of exponential and logarithmic functions; and the use of computer software in math applications.
College Algebra/Functions (Math152 - dual enrollment) - 1 Credit (3 college credits) Prerequisites: satisfactory score on ASSET placement exam
Analysis and interpretation of the behavior and nature of functions including polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, power, absolute value, and piecewise-defined functions; systems of equations, modeling and solving real world problems. Additional topics may include matrices, combinatorics, sequences and series, and conics. Note: May receive credit for only one of the following: MAT150, MAT151, MAT152, or MAT187.
